I’m Ben Ramsey, a coder, author, and speaker living in Nashville, TN. I’ve been building web software for more than 25 years.

I contribute to open source software, including the PHP programming language—where I served as release manager for versions 8.1 and 8.2—and ramsey/uuid. More of my work is available on my GitHub profile.

I’ve spoken at PHP and web development conferences around the world. All my talks are listed on my talks page. I’ve also appeared on podcasts and panels; see my appearances page.

Outside of coding, I spend time with my family, play TTRPGs and video games, love chess (though I’m awful at it), and enjoy craft beer and rye whiskey.

• Ramsey derives from the Old Norse hrams-á, meaning “wild garlic river”
• I’m reading through all the Nebula Award winning novels
